7 year old, Sailor.

In January 2015, seven-year-old Sailor Gutzler and her family were flying from Florida to Illinois in a private airplane. Sailor's father was at the controls. Just after nightfall, they developed mechanical problems and crashed in the pitch-dark hills of Kentucky, upside down in very rough and isolated terrain. Everyone but Sailor died in the accident. Her wrist was broken and she also suffered many cuts and scrapes and lost her shoes. The temperature was 38 degrees - it was cold and rainy - and Sailor was wearing only shorts, a T-shirt, and one sock.
What can we learn from how she survived? "My vision of the future is that there is a light- and knowing that light is there inspires me to be in and stay in motion." Sailor chose not to let fear paralyze her, but to be in motion and seek the light - and it saved her life. Likewise, we must give place for the hope that we will find the light by embracing belief rather than choosing to doubt. Our actions are the evidence of our belief and become the substance of our faith.
Your vision of the future can sustain you through your present agonies.

Decisions without a vision are just suggestions; Vision-inspired decisions lead to confidence and motion; Hold yourself Accountable EVEN if you aren't to blame; Resilience enables you to think, act, and move consistently--making small, incremental corrections along the way; Humility is freedom from pride and/or arrogance. Less focus on self and more an ability to see the strengths and value of others.

Becoming a truly good person demands more of us than merely checking items off a to-do list. It also has a lot to do with what we "choose" to do.
Does your to-do list match your to-be list?
How might the person we are at the end of the day be a little different (in a good way) from the person at the beginning of the day?

Have Fun!
Sunday Jul 24, 2022
Sunday Jul 24, 2022
Fun is not an activity, it is a feeling.
Fun unites us.
We live in a polarized world with lots of dissension. When we have fun with people, we don't see them as different political parties, or nationalities, or religions. We connect with them as human beings.
Fun makes us healthier.
Fun in energizing.
Treat fun as if it is important. Because it is!

What is the keystone that connects wisdom from your past with the inspiration and faith in your future?
What does "a constant curiosity" have to do with my past and my future? "Creative people must have a constant curiosity."
- Robert D. Hales
"Curiosity urges us to ask questions, to seek out a range of resources and perspectives, to seek answers to those questions. And, to critically evaluate our experiences as we synthesize all information into a new understanding. These skills allow us to open our thoughts and experiences to new ways of thinking."
- Rachel Wadham, Educational and Juvenile Literature Librarian.
